Licorice Basil, also known as Thai Basil, is an heirloom basil variety native to southeast Asia. Plant grows to around 15 inches in height with 2 inch long, aromatic leaves that have the scent and flavor of licorice and anise.
Stems are purplish-red and small, burgundy colored flowers will bloom in summer if the plant is allowed to bolt.
Excellent for use in Thai cuisine and other traditional Asian dishes.

Growing Tips
Direct sow when soil temperatures have warmed and there is no longer any danger of frost. Plant seeds 1/4 inch beneath the soil and thin to one plant every 15 to 18 inches once the seedlings have developed their first set of true leaves.
